In October, I was ‘lucky’ enough to attend the fashion and beauty blogger event put on by Lucky magazine, called Lucky Fabb. It was a 2 day event of taste makers, social media gurus & entrepreneurs who have literally revolutionized the online shopping experience (think Warby Parker & Birchbox). I was blown away by all the inspiring people there…both who came to speak and who attended. I’d love to get into details with you about each and every one of them (Kate Bosworth, Jess Lee, Tamara Mellon, Bryan Boy, & Katia Beauchamp just to name a few) but for now, let’s talk about the one that inspired this post (and a very expensive purchase for M&L)…Adam Katz Sinding of Le21eme.
If you’re as obsessed with street style as we are, then you most likely are familiar with his work, which can often be identified by the tilted camera angles and the top of the subject’s head cut off. I have to admit, I literally had no idea what Adam was talking about most of the seminar. It was VERY technical and I felt like the only person in the room who had no insight to share into apertures or wide angle lenses. But his pics spoke for themselves and the lightbulb went off in my head, “I want to do this!”. So about a month later Laurel and I find ourselves aimlessly wandering around the massive Willa Wonka esque B&H Photo (the 2nd largest camera store in the world!) and leaving with this little beauty EOS Rebel Sl-1.
With the way the weather has been in NY, I haven’t been able to take my hands out of my gloves long enough to take any street style shots (though I did manage to get a good shot of the New York Public Library on one particularly freezing walk home from Zara) but please enjoy our photography debut of other inspiring things…from architecture to the loves of our lives (sorry mom, it’s not a man) and stay tuned for what’s sure to be some amazing street style photography (I hope!)
